Locking the screen does NOT prevent such “website link icons” from becoming erased. This ditty saves you from having to sift thru fresh google searches to find your sites. Besides taking a screen shot + emailing it to myself to remind me what I had where on each screen page, I also save time by doing this trick – which works as long as you have not erased your Search History: open chrome, hit the 3 vertical dots > Recent tabs > show full history > and to find your web pages of choice, either scroll down to search by the date you used your website or use the keyword search on the very top – DO NOT HIT THE CLEAR BROWSER Button > then open the webpage and add back to home screen.
